S.T.A.G Weapon Rules

In order to adhere as best as possible to a Mil-Sim experience, as well as creating a safe and fair playing field to all members, S.T.A.G Airsoft provides a ruleset for common weapon classes.

These rules cover both the aesthetical, mechanical and gameplay aspects of the various replicas utilized on the field.

Rules include:

  • Allowed attachments

  • Power Limits (see below description)

  • Minimum Engagement Distances (MED)

  • Mechanical Restrictions

Power Limits and MEDs

The following power limits and Minimum Engagement Distances (MED) apply at all STAG Airsoft events.

Power is measured in joules on a chronograph using 6mm plastic BBs with the following two requirements:

  1. The weight of the BBs used to chrono the replica must be the same weight as that used during gameplay

  2. The hop up must be set.

STAG Airsoft uses power limits measured in joules as the sole determining guide to whether a replica is within limits.

Airsoft Kit Rules

Creating your own personalised kit setup for Airsoft, is both an integral and enjoyable part of the hobby. Whilst we do not have any strict requirements on kit types, we have the following general rules/guidelines detailed below.

Plate Carriers

Plate Carriers typically offer more protection (in real scenarios) due to armored plates embedded within the vest, as well as increased mag/accessory storage. This often comes at the cost of reduced mobility and carry weight.

On the airsoft field, any player that uses stiff, weighted or foam plates in their Plate Carrier, will be allowed the use of one self-revive bandage (rules on the self-revive are explained during each Safety brief before our matches), in order to gain a gameplay benefit at the cost of limited mobility/extra carry weight.

Magazine Requirements

The following magazine rules apply to all the below weapon classes:

  1. Magazines must be carried in dedicated pouches attached to Vests and Belts only. Pistol magazines can be carried with their respective gun holsters (drop-leg, belt, vest types)

  2. There is no limit to how many magazines you can carry on your kit, as long as the above rule is respected

  3. The use of speed loaders during matches is not allowed, nor can they be carried on your kit.
